Barwell win team of the month award
BARWELL were presented with the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Club of the Month Award last week.
Manager Jimmy Ginnelly picked up the award on behalf of the club, as it was presented by the league’s Coaching Development Officer, Mark Ogley Tuesday (March 27).
The Canaries picked up three wins and a draw in the month of February, recording victories against Buxton, Hednesford Town and Workington along the way.
Despite Barwell’s form last dipping somewhat since being announced as winners of the award, the squad are still working hard in order to achieve their highest ever finish since the club were founded in 1992.
The team currently sit in 10th place with 53 points from 38 matches.
Sitting in ninth are Hednesford Town on 54 points but having played a game extra.
Barwell will look to improve their standing with a rearranged match against Coalville tomorrow (Thursday April 5).

The team were due to meet on Monday but were forced to abandon the Bank Holiday match because of a waterlogged pitch.
Eager to play out the fixture, the teams applied to the league for a swift rescheduling to Thursday night.
Monday’s disappointment followed the earlier wash-out of Saturday’s away match against Shaw Lane which was also postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
The latest postponements leave Barwell, along with other teams in our area, with a busy April schedule.
Including Thursday’s clash with Coalville, the team face eight matches to bring the season to a close over the next month.
Those matches include top of the table Altrincham on April 14 and play-off chasers Farsely Celtic on April 21.
The postponed match against Shaw Lane is yet to be recheduled.
Jimmy Ginnelly will be hoping his team rediscover the form which earned them the team of the month award which could secure a strong finish in the top half of the table.
