Second birthday for town female business group

A WOMEN’S business networking group has reached its second birthday.

Women that Connect has 36 members and has an exclusive membership meaning only one member per profession or industry can join, ensuring a diverse mix of businesses.

At the monthly meetings, each members speaks about their business and attendees then enjoy a two-course lunch and drink, followed by a more in-depth presentation by one of the members.

Sue Tonks, owner of Hydroveg Kits, spoke at the second birthday meeting about carrying on when life gets difficult.

There is a forum after the talk where members can get advice on any issues they are facing.

Kate Jordin of The Bake Well Tart made a cake for the second anniversary, in the shape of a handbag with two women helping each other climb up the side of it.

Guests can attend up to two meetings a year if there is no clash with a member business.

The friendly and relaxed group meets on the second Wednesday of every month at the Ullesthorpe Court Hotel with the next meeting being on Wednesday October 10.
