Residents should make their voice heard on Big Pit
RESIDENTS in Hinckley are being encouraged to participate in an appeal on proposals to build 60 houses on Big Pit in Hinckley.
Orbit Housing bossses want to build 60 houses on the site of the pit behind Ashby Road in Hinckley.
The plans had previously been voted down by Hinckley and Bosworth Council but Orbit has taken the case to appeal. The appeal is to be decided by a government planning inspector.
Local Councillor for the area Lib Dem Michael Mullaney said: “Local residents and I believe there should have been a proper public inquiry to hear the appeal. Now this is not happening we need to get as many people to write in as possible to object to the crazy plans to build on the Big Pit site. There are still real concerns about flooding if the site is built on.
“The more residents write in the more the planning inspector will have to take notice of the scale of opposition to these flawed plans to build on the Big Pit.
“People have until October 23rd to make submissions. These can be done by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to Richard Mitchell, The Planning Inspectorate, Rooms 3C, Temple Quay house, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN, if sending written comments they ask you to send 3 copies, Please quote Ref: APP/ K2420/W/18/3203971 with any
