Muscle man Tin break three world records
A POWER lifter had quite the international debut smashing three world records in Hungary.
Muscle man Tin Mayfield from Barwell was hailed world champion in the Under-100kg body weight raw deadlift in Eger, lifting a huge 300kg.
He was in action for the first time at the Global Powerlifting Committee (GPC) World Championships 2018.
He broke the previous 276.5kg record with his second attempt, lifting 280kg, and went on to lift 290kg before reaching the “magical” 300kg.
The dad-of-two, 45, has been training for three years to build up strength. He said: “It was fantastic. “I have always been keen on fitness but I’ve only taken it seriously the last three years.”
Tin works out four days a week and regularly pumps iron at the Iron Generation gym in Barwell.
He also expressed his thanks to “legend” Dave Meer from The Farm in Tamworth.
Tin works as a forklift trck driver at DS Smith.
The next challenge for Tin is the GPC British Powerlifiting finals in November, where he hopes to beat his previous total.
He said: “I know I can do it.”
