Mus­cle man Tin break three world records

A POWER lifter had quite the in­ter­na­tional de­but smash­ing three world records in Hun­gary.

Mus­cle man Tin May­field from Bar­well was hailed world cham­pion in the Un­der-100kg body weight raw dead­lift in Eger, lift­ing a huge 300kg.

He was in ac­tion for the first time at the Global Pow­er­lift­ing Com­mit­tee (GPC) World Cham­pi­onships 2018.

He broke the pre­vi­ous 276.5kg record with his sec­ond at­tempt, lift­ing 280kg, and went on to lift 290kg be­fore reach­ing the “mag­i­cal” 300kg.

The dad-of-two, 45, has been train­ing for three years to build up strength. He said: “It was fan­tas­tic. “I have al­ways been keen on fit­ness but I’ve only taken it se­ri­ously the last three years.”

Tin works out four days a week and reg­u­larly pumps iron at the Iron Gen­er­a­tion gym in Bar­well.

He also ex­pressed his thanks to “le­gend” Dave Meer from The Farm in Tam­worth.

Tin works as a fork­lift trck driver at DS Smith.

The next chal­lenge for Tin is the GPC Bri­tish Pow­er­li­fit­ing fi­nals in Novem­ber, where he hopes to beat his pre­vi­ous to­tal.

He said: “I know I can do it.”
