Police appeal after van driver is hit by car
A van driver was hit by a car when he approached it to speak to the person at the wheel.
The driver, who suffered cuts and bruises, had earlier been involved in what police described as a “driving incident’’ with the occupant of the small silver car.
The initial incident happened in Copt Oak, near Coalville, between 6pm and 6.30pm last Tuesday, after the two vehicles had left the M1 at junction 22. He was hit by the car soon after- wards at the junction of the A511 and Whitwick Road, near Coalville.
Police said: “The driver of a white Mercedes van was involved in a driving incident with a small silver car as the two cars left the M1.
“Both vehicles travelled along the A511 and stopped at the exit road onto Whitwick Road, close to the roadworks on the bridge.
“The driver of the van approached the silver car to speak to the driver and in the process of the silver vehicle leaving the scene, he was struck by the car.”
