MP visits students at college
STUDENTS in Enderby took part in a question and answer session to discuss all things politics with returning guest South Leicestershire MP Alberto Costa.
Following the success of a similar session last year, Mr Costa returned to be quizzed by year nine, 10 and 11 pupils from Brockington College.
Throughout the session the MP was questioned on a range of matters from equal marriage to NHS funding and rela- tions with China.
Mr Costa said: “It was great pleasure to return to Brockington College again this week, I was very impressed with the wide range of thought provoking questions from pupils today; it’s a real testament to the tremendous teaching staff at the college that their pupils are so well informed and aware of the issues, it’s very good to hear.”
Chris Southall, Brockington Principle added: “Students were eager in anticipation for Alberto Costa’s visit this week and the sessions were a resounding success.
“The opportunity to speak with an MP of Mr Costa’s calibre was invaluable to the students involved and for some, was their first real taste of politics in action.
“It was truly fantastic to welcome Alberto back to the college to enthuse and inspire students, particularly in preparation for our visit to the Houses of Parliament in the Spring.”
