Festive food in focus on Sunday in the Market Place

THE Sunday Munch Market returns to Hinckley this Christmas with plenty of hot and cold foods, gift ideas and other festive treats to tempt and attract visitors from across the Borough.

More than 30 stalls will be on hand to offer an array of refreshments, collectibles, crafts and Christmas decorations from local producers.

The Special Christmas themed Sunday food market, which is managed by East Midlands Markets and Events in partnership with Hinckley and Bosworth Bor- ough Council, has been added by popular demand following the success of the monthly Sunday Munch Markets earlier this year.

Executive member for Culture and Leisure at the Borough Council, Councillor Maureen Cook, said: “I am delighted that we are able to offer residents and visitors a Christmas themed Sunday market offering free parking, local suppliers and all things Christmas; lights, gifts, mince pies, music and Christmas trees.

“This will be a wonderful opportunity for our community to visit Hinckley on December 16 and soak up the atmosphere whilst doing some last minute Christmas shopping. This promises to be another successful event in the Hinckley Town Centre calendar.”

The Sunday markets support local food and drink producers, artists, craftspeople and local community groups and have grown in popularity, boosting Sunday footfall in the town centre by up to 50%.

Stall holders who have confirmed their attendance so far include: Horses and Crown - Mulled Wine and Cider, The Ginger Barista - Barista Coffee and Liqueurs, Event Crepes - Sweet and Savoury Crepes, Betty Browns - Cakes and Home Baking Bits, Brocklebys Farm Pies, Kipsters - Homemade Dog Biscuits and Loretta Lee - Malaysian Cakes, amongst more than a dozen others.

The Merry Munch will be in Market Place on Sunday December 16 from 10am till 4pm and shoppers are also reminded that parking is also free in all council car parks on Sundays.
