Visitors also can leave the castle, have their hands stamped for re-entry and eat lunch in Warwick town centre. There is a row of picnic tables near the Peacock Gardens thoughtful­ly placed to get shelter from a high wall and catch the sun. These would be fine for a winter picnic on a calm sunny day but no good in rain or high winds. Disabled visitors Most of the outdoor areas are accessible by wide and well surfaced paths although some of the paths have moderate gradients. Disabled visitors can have a free carer ticket. There are wheelchair­s to hire for a £10 deposit. Most of the indoor attraction­s involve steps. There are long spiral staircases to reach battlement­s and towers. There is a short flight of wide straight steps to reach the Great Hall and Victorian areas of the castle. There is an accessible toilet near the entrance, there is some historical informatio­n braille and there are induction loops in the shops, cafes and ticket office. Visiting with babies and very young children Pushchairs are allowed in the grounds but not in any of the buildings. There are baby changing facilities and there is a welfare room for those who need somewhere quiet to breast feed.
