Mem­ber of staff hos­pi­talised as raiders leave empty handed Po­lice ap­peal after three men raid vil­lage store

PO­LICE in­ves­ti­gat­ing a rob­bery in Kirby Muxloe want to talk to the peo­ple pic­tured right.

Three men barged their way into the store in Main Street as staff were open­ing up the premises at around 5.45am on De­cem­ber 9.

A smoke cloak was ac­ti­vated in the premises and the mem­bers of staff were or­dered to put the shut­ters down.

One of the sus­pects then punched one of the staff mem­bers be­fore grab­bing the other em­ployee and tak­ing her to the back of the shop.

The three sus­pects then ran out of the shop leav­ing empty-handed.

They are be­lieved to have left in a blue car head­ing in the di­rec­tion of the A47.

One of the mem­bers of staff re­quired hos­pi­tal treat­ment fol­low­ing the in­ci­dent.

His in­juries were not life-threat­en­ing or life-chang­ing and he has since been dis­charged.

De­tec­tive Con­sta­ble Steve Win­ter­ton said: “This was a se­ri­ous of­fence which left em­ploy­ees ter­ri­fied.

“We are ap­peal­ing to any­one who recog­nises the peo­ple in the CCTV im­age to make con­tact with us as we be­lieve they can help us with our en­quiries.

“Any­one who has any other in­for­ma­tion re­gard­ing the in­ci­dent is also urged to get in touch.”
