600 cannabis plants sized from prop­erty just be­fore Christ­mas

PO­LICE seized nearly £500,000 worth of cannabis from a prop­erty in Hinck­ley.

Some 600 cannabis plants, es­ti­mated to be worth around £460,000, were found at a premises in Lime Kilns Way, off Ham­monds Way on De­cem­ber 21.

A 41-year-old man from Hinck­ley was ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of the pro­duc­tion of cannabis.

The war­rant was ex­e­cuted fol­low­ing in­for­ma­tion re­ceived from the lo­cal com­mu­nity by the Hinck­ley Ded­i­cated Neigh­bour­hood Team.

Sergeant Dave Cleaver from the team said: “If any­one has any in­for­ma­tion re­lat­ing to the dis­cov­ery of these plants, or sus­pects cannabis plants are be­ing grown in their neigh­bour­hood, please let po­lice know.

“In­for­ma­tion we re­ceive from the com­mu­nity is vi­tal to putting a stop to the pro­duc­tion and sup­ply of drugs on our streets and along with our lo­cal part­ners we will act on in­tel­li­gence we re­ceive.

“I would like to thank our lo­cal com­mu­nity in Hinck­ley for com­ing for­ward with de­tails which led to the dis­cov­ery of this large cannabis growth and an ar­rest.”

A huge haul of cannabis plants was seized in Hinck­ley.
