600 cannabis plants sized from property just before Christmas
POLICE seized nearly £500,000 worth of cannabis from a property in Hinckley.
Some 600 cannabis plants, estimated to be worth around £460,000, were found at a premises in Lime Kilns Way, off Hammonds Way on December 21.
A 41-year-old man from Hinckley was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis.
The warrant was executed following information received from the local community by the Hinckley Dedicated Neighbourhood Team.
Sergeant Dave Cleaver from the team said: “If anyone has any information relating to the discovery of these plants, or suspects cannabis plants are being grown in their neighbourhood, please let police know.
“Information we receive from the community is vital to putting a stop to the production and supply of drugs on our streets and along with our local partners we will act on intelligence we receive.
“I would like to thank our local community in Hinckley for coming forward with details which led to the discovery of this large cannabis growth and an arrest.”
