Classic car run cash goes to Abbie’s Hideaway

Derek added: “It makes us feel really proud when a charity receives a donation from us, it’s hard work, it’s a 12-month cycle from planning to the day the event takes place but at the end of the day when we hand over the cheque we are all as proud as punch.”

The South Leicesters­hire MG club meet on the first Tuesday of the month at the White Horse, Broughton Astley.

Melissa and Roz Mustard received a cheque for £1000 for their charity Abbie’s Hideaway which was set up in memory of Abbie Mustard, a 16-year-old former John Cleveland college pupil who died of leukaemia in 2012. The cheque was presented by the South Leicesters­hire MG club’s chairman Mr Graham Dorman and Mrs Bronwen Mackenzie, following another successful year of fundraisin­g at their annual Ratae Classic Car run.
