Captain Corelli coming to city
THERE are still tickets available to see the first major production of the based selling novel, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, which is coming to Leicester this April.
The show features an epic love story which follows the lives of Dr Iannis, his beautiful, strongwilled daughter Pelagia and the Italian Captain Antonio Corelli, during the Italian and German occupation of the island in World War II.
25 years after the book was first published, the play will be directed by Olivier and Tony Award nominee Melly Still and adapted by Evening Standard Award winner and Golden Globe and Bafta Award nominee, Rona Munro.
In 2001, the award-winning novel was also adapted into a film starring Nicholas Cage and Penélope Cruz.
The adaptation is coming to Leicester’s Curve from April 13 to April 20 2019.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.curveonline.co. uk, on 0116 242 3595 or via the Curve’s ticket office.
