Cap­tain Corelli com­ing to city

THERE are still tick­ets avail­able to see the first ma­jor pro­duc­tion of the based sell­ing novel, Cap­tain Corelli’s Man­dolin, which is com­ing to Le­ices­ter this April.

The show fea­tures an epic love story which fol­lows the lives of Dr Ian­nis, his beau­ti­ful, strong­willed daugh­ter Pe­la­gia and the Ital­ian Cap­tain An­to­nio Corelli, dur­ing the Ital­ian and Ger­man oc­cu­pa­tion of the is­land in World War II.

25 years after the book was first pub­lished, the play will be di­rected by Olivier and Tony Award nom­i­nee Melly Still and adapted by Evening Stan­dard Award win­ner and Golden Globe and Bafta Award nom­i­nee, Rona Munro.

In 2001, the award-win­ning novel was also adapted into a film star­ring Ni­cholas Cage and Pené­lope Cruz.

The adap­ta­tion is com­ing to Le­ices­ter’s Curve from April 13 to April 20 2019.
