House fire

A KITCHEN was badly damaged in a house fire in Desford.

The unit was 30 per cent damaged in the incident at a property in St Martin’s Drive.

A fryer range caught alight and the fire spread to panelling behind.

The cause was believed to be accidental.

Fire crews from Western and Southern fire stations dealt with the blaze.

Firefighters used a dry powder extinguisher to stop the fire from spreading and to put it out. Thermal imaging cameras were used to check for further hotspots.

The fire happened on December 30 at around 10.14am.
