Mayday, the country is crashing

Hinckley Times - - LETTERS -

THE avoidable fiasco of seeing Gatwick airport close for over 30 hours smacks of an incompetent, inert, incapable, impotent government! It wasn’t that the transport Secretary Chris Grayling was behind the (learning) curve; he was denying there was a curve!

The Home Secretary Sajid Javid was nowhere to be seen or heard? And now the police reveal that, most of the drone sightings, were actually their drones; so their action and government inaction compounded the chaos; intelligence to Sussex police is a contradiction in terms, and incompetence is always included in the terms of government contracts including Brexit!

The Security Minister Ben Wallace, (after the event) advises he will NOW lift restrictions banning airports from using drone counter measures? Unbelievable! And when they eventually brought the Army in, the army had to borrow equipment it should have had, from a private company. Irrefutable evidence of government underfunding which is a way of life for this administration! Yet in defiance of public opinion, the government are hap- pily spending £13.7 billion on foreign aid, despite being told in every enquiry into it, that they are wasting money! And they are falling over themselves to pay the EU £39 billion; for what exactly? But spend money on the electorate, security and services, or restore the original budget for Universal Credit, dream on! To cap it all we now have border force hoovering up migrants (who have paid thousands of Euros to people traffickers) from the channel and bringing them here, so assisting the traffickers! This is control of our borders?

From Shire hall to Whitehall, the Tory leadership, and ministers have repeatedly messed up, having abandoned core voters, and (they) have lost the confidence of the majority electorate! Their attitude is come what “May” they will go their way! Councillor Rushton, the county council leader, and Theresa May need to understand there is no “I” in team or democracy, but there is in dictator! Look closely and see that their optimism is based on not knowing what they are on about! Mayday, mayday, the country is crashing!
