Homes plan will just add to traffic

I must share the concern over the proposed development of the old leisure centre site into accommodation.

The roads in and around the town centre have not been developed for 30 years so how on earth can they be expected to cope with the extra traffic – particularly with Lidl to open its new store just round the corner. It’s all very well local councillors pushing for “brown field” housing, but they have no plan for dealing with the unacceptable congestion it creates.

If we want something iconic and appealing, why not an attractive park where residents and visitors can relax? R Catchpole
