Company gives charity a boost
A PRINTER and copier company donated £1,000 plus two photocopiers to help a Hinckley homelessness charity.
The early Christmas gift for the charity Emmaus follows P8 Systems’ pledge to give a percentage of every sale to the charity.
During 2018 the company raised a total of £1,000 which they recently presented to Emmaus alongside an extra gift of free photocopiers for their offices in Hinckley and Leicester.
Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland provides a home and meaningful work for 16 people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.
P8 Systems Managing Director Jay Lad decided to raise funds for the charity when he heard about its work with formerly homeless people.
He said: “As a local business we wanted to support a charity which helps people close to home.
“We take pride in knowing that our contributions will go directly to helping formerly homeless people rebuild their lives, thanks to Emmaus Leicestershire and Rutland’s compassionate and essential work.
“I recently visited their new Brighter Futures office in Leicester and was also very encouraged by this new service.
“It’s offering really vital help with employability skills but also supporting people to overcome other related problems such as housing, debt, health and confidence issues.
“We also want to encourage other local businesses to help. Supporting Emmaus is a noble and rewarding way to give back to your local community.”
The charity’s CEO Mir Juma said: “We could not continue our vital work without the support of our local community.
“When businesses like P8 Systems rally round and come up with a way to provide regular donations, it really makes a difference and enables us to plan for the future.”
