Good showing from Bosworth

-

Play continued in this vein for a long period until Bosworth were penalised in front of their own posts for not rolling away giving an easy kick for Olney to level the score. With three quarters of the game over frustration crept into the game and fists started to fly giving the referee no option other than to show the last player to join the melee, one of the Bosworth second row players, a red card reducing the team to fourteen. At the same time the player he was protecting, Harry Milner had to retire injured due to a damaged shoulder. This setback seemed to have no effect on the Bosworth scrum who continued to hold their own in the set pieces. Olney, desperate to break the deadlock, chose to have a go at goal from just inside the Bosworth half but the ball fell short. With ten minutes remaining Olney did manage to use their superiority in numbers and cross in the corner for a try, again too far out for the kicker.

Bosworth’s frustration was starting to show and uncharacteristic back chat to the referee gave Olney three more points to add to their score. More back chat earned a visit to the sin bin for Chris Harding reducing the team to thirteen for the last five minutes of the game. Bosworth held out to the final whistle with the score Market Bosworth 8 Olney 16 giving Olney another win but having played their hearts out for most of the game it means that Bosworth are now only three points away from the relegation zone and with an away game at third placed St Ives in two weeks time the Cadeby Lane side must build on this weeks performance to keep their hopes alive.
