What are our MPs up to?

-

WHAT are our MP’s up to? They are a disgrace to the country and John Bercow is a double disgrace.

I have always believed that the Speaker of the House should be impartial and so should not be an MP at all, but a separate unity. I believe I have now been proved correct. With MPs changing parties or leaving at the next general election just because things have not gone their way, they are behaving even more childishly than usual.

Our Queen, who has set such a high standard in public life, must be despairing.

Scottish regions have two bites of the cherry, but almost of them really want is independence for Scotland, so breaking up the UK. And Wales is virtually the same. Don’t they realise that if they manage to split the Union then there will be no U.K. and we will all be thrown out of the EU in consequence with no guarantee of separate countries being accepted back as EU members. Have they learned nothing from history, “united we stand but divided we fall”, which has been proven since the dawn of the Age? The media keep saying the majority of Scotland, or this town or city voted remain or leave. All that is irrelevant. The referendum asked should we be in or out of the EU. Nothing was mention of deal or no deal! It covered the UK as a whole and the vote, by a small majority, was for the UK to leave with no if’s or but’s. This is when all MP’s should have started working together to make this a reality but some MP’s have put their own interests first, what a surprise, and ignored this. I have no axe to grind, even though I voted for remain, after much heart searching. I accepted the result of the referendum as one should.

MP’s already have longer holidays than most “workers” and having just had six weeks off have the gall to try to bring down a Government which has set a date to leave the EU in line with the referendum. The Government want to prorogue Parliament so that they are able to negotiate a fair deal and then bring it to Parliament for approval. Of course, even if this was agreed upon there is no guarantee that the EU would accept it. They just want the deal that suits them - the one Theresa May negotiated.

As for an election, this would bring chaos and even anarchy to our beautiful country that so many people, men and women, have laid down their lives for in the past. Surely no-one wants this or do they?
