Half term events at King Richard III centre

-

LEICESTER’S King Richard III Visitor Centre will be holding a series of events throughout the month for half-term.

From October 12 until October 20, visitors can find out about the arms and armour that a knight would use to stay alive.

The centre’s medieval medic will also be on hand to advise on how to deal with battlefield mishaps. Younger visitors can also join a Knight School and learn how to dress, behave and fight like a knight.

From October 21 until October 25 and from October 28 until November 1, there will be a medieval sword master to welcome visitors into the world of medieval combat by sharing tips of his trade and teaching the ways of the medieval warrior.

Throughout the October half-term events, visitors can also stop off at a craft station and get creative with portraits to colour, crowns to decorate and shields to create.

Even the visitor centre’s White Boar café will be following a battlefield theme, with a very hearty battlefield soup, shield biscuits and a Wars of The Roses smoothie to enjoy.

Meanwhile, there is also the incredible story of King Richard III to discover. Visitors can find out almost everything there is to know about the muchmaligned king – his life, death and the discovery and identification of his remains.

No visit is complete without seeing the actual place where the king’s remains lay undiscovered in a car park for over 500 years.

All October half-term events and craft activities are included in the price of admission to the visitor centre and, once paid for, tickets can be used for unlimited visits for a year.
