Abba inspired sing-a-long show
A SING-a-long show with a deep message about recovering the meaning of Christmas is returning to Hinckley.
Mother Mary is a musical version of the Christmas story, featuring words written to ABBA’s songs, which was first presented in the town in 2010.
Since then, it has raised over £11,000 for good causes in the area over its four previous productions.
Father Frank Daly, priest at St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, said: “It’s quite a serious piece about what has happened to Christmas and how to put it right.
“People sing the songs, it’s a very joyful thing, but it’s a serious meditation as well.”
The show is back by popular demand and features about 60 performers.
It tells the story of a modern day couple’s disillusionment with the season and their eventual understanding of the real meaning of Christmas, in the Bible story of Christ’s birth.
Take A Chance on Me becomes Come And Follow Me, bringing the show to a close before a newly created Dancing Queen finalé.
The show will be put on by include three performances:
December 17 - 7.30pm - St Joseph’s Church, Goodward Road, Leicester
