Care firm gets top rating from the CQC
Care provided ranked in the top few percent of firms after grading
A CARE company based in Hinckley has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
Home Instead Senior Care Hinckley has been ranked among the top three per cent of service providers across the country.
The group provides care and companionship to older people in their own homes in and around Hinckley, Burbage and Nuneaton, including companionship and personal care older people with a range needs.
Some clients are people living with dementia, while others have been supported by the business’ carers for over a year.
Craig Mayes, owner of Home Instead Senior Care Hinckley said: “The rating and feedback from the Care Quality Commission’s report reflects the high levels of professionalism and care we provide.
“Our caregivers are highly motivated - often going above and beyond to support people to of in their own homes and many share the same hobbies and interests as the clients they are matched with.”
The report said that clients’ care plans were focused on outcomes rather than tasks and it cited numerous examples where this approach improved the quality of people’s lives.
One success story in the report was when a caregiver was matched with a Hinckley elderly person through their shared love of gardening.
The carer commented: “My client loves her gardening and I do too, we have visited local garden centres and put solar lights in her garden as well as new planting.
“My client is so happy with that, she dictates how she wants me to plant and I do it. It’s a real success as I couldn’t get her to go out at all at first.”
Relatives of clients care were asked for feedback as part of the inspection, with many commenting on the kindness and compassion of caregivers.
They can also access the Home Instead Senior Care mobile app, with one relative accessing the app from Australia.
Mr Mayes said: “I’m delighted that our passionate approach for individualised care has been recognised with this outstanding rating.
“Our staff deliver care based on trust and companionship we ensure that people continue to feel in control and enable them to remain independent within their own homes.
“Now we have proof that our approach is changing the face of ageing.”
The CQC report all the way also highlighted some of the social caring community initiatives delivered by Home Instead Senior Care Hinckley such as a ‘Stay Nourished’ campaign where the team delivered fresh fruit and veg hampers to local retirement villages.
They also printed a ‘What’s on Where’ guide for the area detailing coffee mornings, hobby groups, lunch clubs and other activities to encourage elderly people to remain engaged with the community.
