A DISGRUNTLED homeowner is trying to identify a man who staggered into his garden wall in the early hours of the morning, partially demolishing it.

The incident took place in Brookside, Burbage, shortly before 1.30am on Sunday January 12.

A van can be seen on the homeowner’s CCTV system pulling into a layby opposite his home.

A large man, estimated to be over 6ft, is then seen walking unsteadily across the road and swaying, before taking a tumble on to a four-feet high section of the wall, bringing it crashing to the ground.

The homeowner said on the Spotted Hinckley Facebook page: “So some joker decided to pay me a visit about 1am.

“Instead, he got to the start of my path, lost his footing and demolished the wall.

“The post was ripped out of the ground yesterday early hours. Anyone know anyone with a white/grey little van?

“Pulled up outside wearing a light/ grey/khaki coat, fell over waited outside the neighbour’s for a bit then got back in the car.”

The homeowner, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “He looked a biggish chap, about 6ft 3in or 6ft 4in.

“He’s fallen straight on top of the wall on his chest and looks like he’s hurt himself doing so.

“I didn’t know anything about it until my son was going out in the morning and saw the collapsed wall, so I thought I’d better check the CCTV.

“It was a hefty section of wall, as I found when I tried to move it. I’ll have to rebuild it.

“I have reported it to the police. I just hope it doesn’t happen again and I’ve put up additional cameras since.

“If it wasn’t so scary, it would be comical.”
