Girlguides are seeking volunteers so they can put on activities and events
GIRLGUIDES in Hinckley need volunteers so they can put on activities and events for their young people.
Girlguiding Hinckley Division has kept busy during lockdown with virtual meetings and other events.
Some units were able to meet outside during the summer holidays, while badges and challenges were on offer to support the physical and emotional wellbeing of members.
Given current social distancing requirements, the units are planning for more virtual meetings and awaiting guidance about whether face-toface meetings are permitted now that the school term has started.
The group is looking for volunteers to help organise activities for the different units.
These include Rainbows aged 5–7, Brownies aged 7–10, Guides aged 10-14 and Rangers aged 14-18.
Girlguiding offers a range of flexible volunteering opportunities to enable girls and young women to grow in confidence and discover their full potential in a safe, girl-only space.
More volunteers are needed in
Hinckley, Burbage, Sapcote, Stanton and Sheepy Magna.
Girlguiding Hinckley Division is calling on residents of Hinckley, Burbage and surrounding areas to give some time to allow local girls and young women to enjoy a wide range of exciting activities.
There are currently a large number of people who want to take part and
Stoney are waiting for spaces to become free in units which cannot offer more places due to a lack of volunteers.
Whether you are new to the area or have lived here all your life, Girlguiding is a way to make friends and get involved with the local community.
