110 Above festival returns in 2021

-

THE first acts music festival announced.

The event takes place near Market Bosworth and was cancelled in 2020 due to the virus.

With many of the people who bought tickets to the 110 Above Festival in 2020 keeping them for 2021, the organisers were stirred into continuing with the event in 2021.

A spokesperson said: “Soon after making the announcement of an additional 16 acts for the 2020 110 Above Festival in early March the 110 Above team pressed the pause button whilst we all waited to see what would happen.

“Sadly, in May we knew that a festival this year would not be possible, the pause button stayed down. There was serious discussion about whether we could go on. The question they were asking themselves was ‘Is their sufficient support for what we do or have we run our course?’

“Stirred by the support with the for the 110 2021 have

Above been majority of people deciding to keep their tickets for 2021 the team decided to launch a ‘all or none” crowd funding campaign. The support was stunning, exceeding the target to keep them going for 2021. The team were truly humbled by the support.”

As restrictions were eased and being determined to give something back to the 110 Above family and to enable some live music this year 110 Above held an intimate “Campover” with 100 supporters seeing 11 acts over two days in September, while maintaining strict social distancing.

The spokesperson continued: “The team have been so re energised by the support from festival goers and acts that they feel the time is right to release the pause button and announce the first 30 acts for 110 Above 2021. With such a positive reaction to the line-up announcements early in the year the lineup is so far very similar to that announced in early March. Sundara

Karama, The Amazons and Sports Team are the headliners and are joined by a fantastic group of exciting acts.”

110 Above feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city lights.

Set in the ancient and enchanting surroundings of Gopsall Hall Farm, Leicestershire – previously the home of the great Gopsall Hall - 110 Above Festival is effortlessly unique and forms an immersive experience for its attendees.

Capacity is carefully limited meaning fans can interact with artists at a level well beyond that offered by large festivals. Many artists have fallen in love with the festival and choose to stay for the weekend, happily stopping for chats and photo opportunities with fans.

Away from the location 110 Above Festival places huge emphasis on having a lineup that punches above its weight.

Chief Booker – Michael Lain – speaks of how he does not want the festival to be top heavy with two or three big headliners and nothing else.

He therefore ensures that quality is on show from when stages open at 11am through to the late hours at night. Given the strength and depth of the festival’s lineup it’s not surprising that the festival is touted as being “indie’s best kept secret” (TMRW Magazine).

110 Above is a place for all ages – the stunning fresh lineup attracts music lovers and the school holiday date and intimate and friendly environment is enhancing its appeal to families.

Indeed, organisers are keen to make sure there is something for everyone by welcoming other activities such as comedy, face painting, garden games, hula hoop and drumming workshops.

Beginning in 2009 as Lainfest (named after the Lain family who organised the festival), 110 Above Festival has developed annually to now being recognised as one of “the

places” to catch the new music and more.

The last few years, which ushered in the re-brand to 110 Above Festival (but same organisers), has seen the likes of Pale Waves, PEACE, Easy Life, Sundara Karma and Lucy Rose play across its unique and inspirational stages.

With attendance capped, 110 Above delivers its energetic audiences the perfect balance between intimacy and feeling part of something.

Festival curator, founder and Chief Booker Michael Lain says: “It’s incredible how the festival has developed, and we plan to bounce back stronger than ever after an utterly dismal year for the events industry”.

2020’s festival will take place from the Thursday to the Sunday, August 12-15. Adult weekend tickets, which include optional camping are priced from £99 and there are discounts for under 16s.

Under 12s are given free admission. For tickets or more information visit 110 Above’s website (110Above. com/tickets) or its social media.
