Foster is returning for full season in Porsche challenge
AFTER his one-off appearance in the final round of the 2021 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season, when he claimed a podium finish, Harry Foster is returning for the full campaign this time out with Desford-based Team Parker Racing.
Harry, son of BTCC racer Nick and brother of singleseater star Louis, achieved a third-place finish in his first race at Donington Park, despite difficult wet conditions, and followed that up with fifth in the second race, despite only having a few tests in the car beforehand.
Having enjoyed success in karting, in which he competed from the age of six until he was 13, Harry looked to make his mark in the Ginetta Junior Championship as a 14-year-old but stepped away from motorsport to focus on his education, returning in 2021 with a renewed interest.
He joins team-mates
Matt Armstrong, who returns for his second season, and newcomer Will Newnham in a trio of Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 Clubsports entered in the series, which gets under way in May.
“I’m happy to be racing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB this season as doing the races last year gave me a confidence boost,” said Harry, above.
“I feel like there’s still a bit to improve on, so I’m looking forward to progressing throughout the season and seeing what kind of results I can get.
“I hope to get up to speed and be at the front runners’ pace by the time we’ve tested at different tracks, as that should give me that extra confidence in the car and a bit more pace.
“The Cayman is a lovely race car and I really love the Porsche brand. They produce nice cars to drive and to look at, so I thought it was a really good championship to enter as it is competitive.”
