Inside new entertainment venue that’s opened in former Hinckley nightclub
THERE’S now a new place to visit on your next night out in Hinckley. Carter’s Courtyard has just opened its doors for the first time - and with arcade machines, shuffleboard and basketball hoops to enjoy.
The new entertainment venue has launched in the former home of nightclub Eivissa. As we reported last month, the nightclub, which opened in December 2019, closed permanently after holding its final event, The Last Dance, on February 25.
Owner Graham Butler had said that Eivissa’s permanent closure was down to the effects of the Covid lockdowns and the demise of the club scene. However, he has now transformed the place into entertainment venue Carter’s Courtyard, which he hopes will draw in the crowds.
The funky-looking venue includes pool tables, basketball hoops, shuffleboard tables, old school arcade machines, dartboards and more. As well as showing off your skills on the games, you can enjoy one of the bar’s handcrafted cocktails.
A selection of burgers is available - including a vegan option. Graham says the Courtyard complements the existing Carter’s Lounge, offering two different venues with two different vibes, located just a few steps from one another.
Although, according to Graham, the Courtyard is an “adult playground” in the evening, under 18s can visit during the day providing they are accompanied by an adult. It is open from 12pm until 12am on Thursdays, 12pm until early morning (time dependent on how busy it is) on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12pm until 8pm Sundays.
You can book your visit via the Carter’s Courtyard website.
