Podium place for Kirby Bennett in national series

TEAM Enable (M.I.Racing) McCann continued to dominate the Midlands Friday Evening Mountain Bike series with three more victories at Glebe Park in Corby.

Lindsay Newman won the Ladies Veteran race, followed by victory for Nick Popham in the Veteran 50+ race , and the Teams youngest rider, 15-year-old Jefferson Tear made it three, when winning the Under 16 yrs Youth event.

All three riders are now comfortabl­y in the lead in the Overall series. Peter Busby, finished third in the Over 60 race.

Hinckley based Kirby Bennett, missed the Corby event , in favour of the latest round of the British Mt Bike National series at Woodys Bike Park , Fowey. competing against the U.K’s leading riders, Kirby finished a brilliant third, behind National Champion Grant Johnson and Andy Weaving.

Further afield Alan Parsons finished second in round two of the Yorkshire Evening Cyclo Cross series, having missed round one , Parsons had to start at the rear of the field in 116th position but worked his way through the field to finish second best 60+ rider , the winner started 90 places ahead of him.

The next round is at York in two weeks time, where he should get a better grid placing and hopefully victory.

Mark Wise once again , was fastest in the Leamington C and A.C. Evening 10 mile Time Trial at Princethor­pe with 21 mins 56 secs, followed by Andy Oliver with 22.43, and Dave Ashworth won the Road Bike section with 26.34.

Andy Jackson was a non finisher, as he stopped to help a member of the Coventry Road Club , who had crashed, and had to be taken to Hospital.
