Freddie’s Wish given welcome £1,000 booster from Amazon

-

A CHARITY that helps families following the loss of a child has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon warehouse in Hinckley.

The donation was made to Freddie’s Wish, which provides in-person and online bereavement support, as well as paediatric first aid training.

This donation will go towards training parents/carers with the vital skills to save their child’s life, should they need to, and also providing counselling to parents who have lost a baby or child from the moment of conception up to any age.

Hannah Roberts, an employee at the Amazon in Hinckley, nominated Freddie’s Wish for the donation. She said:

“I’m really pleased that we can support a fantastic charity like Freddie’s Wish. The charity has such an important impact on families in our community who are experiencing the unimaginable loss of a child.”

Charlotte Jolliffe, from Freddie’s Wish, added:

“On behalf of everyone at Freddie’s Wish, we would like to thank the Amazon team in Hinckley for this donation. Support like this means we can continue to help parents and carers at a difficult time and equip them with the skills needed to perhaps save a child’s life or offer support to those who have suffered a loss.”

Community donations, and employee volunteering, are just two of the ways Amazon supports the communities where it operates. Amazon has supported more than 500,000 students across the UK with free computer science and STEM education programmes through Amazon Future Engineer.
