Grand Tour driver set for Carrera Cup debut series

TV star Abbie Eaton is set to contest her maiden Porsche Carrera Cup GB campaign after becoming the sixth driver to join Team Parker Racing’s 2024 roster.
The Hull native has been racing since she was 10 years old, climbing the karting ranks, before making her car debut in 2006 in Saxmax.
She then won the 2009 Production Touring Car Championship Class B, and added the Mazda MX-5 Supercup title in 2014.
Since then, Eaton has raced in the British GT Championship, finishing GT4 Pro-Am vice champion in 2016, as well as the Blancpain GT Series, GT Cup, and Britcar Endurance Championship among others.
She competed in the W Series in 2021 and 2022, and last season in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, taking tenth place in the World Finals.
As well as her track career, the 32-year-old has been a regular on TV, appearing on ITV’s Drive in 2015 and has become well known as the test driver on Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour, joining in 2017.
She is also an Ambassador for Racing Pride, an innovative movement developed to promote LGBTQ+ inclusivity in motorsport, which was supported by Desfordbased Team Parker Racing on its launch in 2019.
Last season, Eaton co-founded Rebelleo Motorsport, which aims to break down barriers and make motorsport more accessible to all, regardless of background, gender, race, ethnicity, or beliefs.
She joined the rest of Team Parker Racing’s Porsche Carrera
Cup GB at the season launch at Donington Park ahead of the opening rounds of the season at the Leicestershire venue over the weekend of April 27 and 28.
Eaton said: “We had several plans for this season, so it’s been a busy few months trying to get things organised.
“It feels like a fantastic car and to be on the TOCA package is ideal.
“I have seen the support and professionalism that Porsche offers, so when Stuart [Parker] said he had a seat available, I jumped at the chance. “It will be my first time racing a Porsche so it will be a new challenge and having seen the high level of talent in the championship over the years, I know it will be an extremely competitive field. “This will be an extension of Rebelleo Motorsport, which is a platform I have set up with my cofounder.
“We want to secure enough revenue that we can help drivers with funding to get them that next step up the motorsport ladder. “The sport is getting more and more inaccessible, and Rebelleo aims to change that, from grassroots karting, all the way up to GT3. “Porsche have always given opportunities to young drivers, so it is a no-brainer to partner up with them.”
