All revved up for Triumph’s first 999 services day

-

A record number of people enjoyed the first Emergency Services Family Day at Triumph Motorcycles factory recently, making it the “biggest community event” the firm had held.

With the support of 999 crews, Triumph Motorcycles brought the community together at their factory in Hinckley with a free family open day.

Emergency services from as far as Devon and Cornwall took part in the day, alongside crews and volunteers from Leicester, Warwick, Northampton, Rutland, Staffordshire, Yorkshire and Merseyside.

It saw an unprecedented number of attendees, with over 3,000 visitors coming to see the incredible range of vehicles on display, including Northants Fire & Police mobile command unit, National Highways HGV Tractor unit, Merseyside’s A110 interceptor police car. Police, Blood and Doc bikes from around the counties, along with local ambulance, fire engines and educational simulators were there for everyone to enjoy.

Hinckley’s St John Ambulance cadet group and Leicestershire Fire Cadets both took part running demonstrations throughout the day, and Bosworth MP Dr Luke Evans joined in with the CPR demonstrations, before meeting the fire crew from Leicestershire Fire Service.

Karen Knight, Triumph FVE manager said: “This is the first emergency services day held at the Triumph Factory in Hinckley. We were delighted to welcome so many families.

“The number of people that attended far exceeded our expectations and is the largest community event Triumph has held at the Hinckley factory to date.”

Dr Luke Evans said: “It was really great to pop down to the Emergency

Services Family Day at Triumph in Hinckley.

“It was a pleasure to see so many people and families interacting with our fantastic first response teams, seeing what they do and finding out what it’s like to work in the emergency services and how they keep our community safe.

“Emergency services are vital, so for the public to have the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ at the Family Day was brilliant. It was lovely to see so many families introduce in their children to the fire, police and ambulance service, let’s hope this helped to inspire the next generation!

“Well done to all involved and to Triumph for organising such a successful and enjoyable day.”
