Motorcycle troops ‘Kradmelder’ c. 1940

Standing before a DKW NZ350, both Kradschützen wear the prized M1934 Kradmantel, the vulcanised all-weather motorcycle overcoat. As with all motorcyclists, there was a kinship among the soldiers on two (or three) wheels, who called themselves ‘Kradmelder’.
