Australia in the Pacific War

Christina Twomey

1,500 Australian civilians were captured by the Japanese in Asia and the Pacific during the war. These men, women and children were interned in Singapore, the Philippines and elsewhere. They suffered and starved; many died and some men were executed. Twomey highlights the diversity of Australian experiences during this global conflict.
