TURKS ATTACK ACROSS FLOATING BRIDGE

The Turks install a pontoon bridge between the shoreline and the far end of the mole under cover of darkness on the night of 18 June.

The following morning, janissaries launch a ferocious assault on the rubble of the Tower of St Nicholas. Hospitaller knights, sergeants, and mercenaries once again repulse the assault, and their cannon destroy the bridge.
