CAESAR’S CIVIL WAR

Caesar and his supporters fight the Roman Senate for control of the Roman Republic. Fought across the Mediterranean basin, Caesar wins the war and becomes Dictator perpetuo (“Dictator for Life”). This political realignment eventually results in the Roman Empire.

The Senate is the governing and advising assembly of Ancient Rome and survives the fall of the Roman Monarchy, Republic and even the division of the Empire
