BATTLE OF MONS GRAUPIUS

-

Conquest into northern Britain continues under successive governors, who are forced to reconquer Wales and then move into Caledonia (Scotland) under Gnaeus Julius Agricola. The final battle of conquest at Mons Graupius is fought possibly in 82-83 CE. Though the histories recount a Roman victory, this is one of the last major incursions into northern Caledonia.
