Mex­i­can revo­lu­tion­ary Pan­cho Villa

The Mex­i­can revo­lu­tion­ary Pan­cho Villa rides with his troops af­ter his vic­tory at Oji­naga. This photo was taken as part of a film con­tract to gen­er­ate funds for his cam­paigns against federal forces. As­sas­si­nated in 1923, af­ter the Mex­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion had been won, he re­mains a con­tro­ver­sial fig­ure in the US due to his raid on the New Mex­ico town of Colum­bus.
