Copper alloy belt buckle plate (SF 2008)

* Examined surfaces under magnification

* Removed adhering corrosion using scalpel and cotton swabs of 50:50 industrial methylated spirit (IMS) and deionised water

* Thoroughly dried surfaces with cotton swabs of acetone

* Stabilised with benztriazole (BTA) a corrosive inhibitor

* Application by immersing under vacuum in 3% BTA in IMS

* Rinsed in IMS to remove excess BTA residue

*Applied two protective coats of lacquer: 15% Incralac in toluene
