“Hey Johnnie Cope!” The Battle of Prestonpans in art, song and story, until 29 October
This exhibition explores how the cultural legacy of the battle of Prestonpans has long outlasted its immediate consequences. From paintings to pamplets, from songbooks to the silver screen, discover how the story of the battle and its two commanding generals have been told through literature and the arts.

In this small exhibition, National Museum of Scotland show how Sir Walter Scott drew upon real historical objects for inspiration, placing objects alongside Scott’s words, and the stories in which they feature.
