Actor Miriam Margolyes delivered another star turn for the BBC, unfortunately for the producers of the Today programme. She’d been invited on to talk about her Harry Potter co-star Robbie Coltrane, who died at the age of 72. But new Chancellor Jeremy Hunt was also on that day, and Margolyes told presenters about how she’d wished him luck – and what she’d really wanted to say. Suffice to say it wasn’t broadcastable language, but broadcast it was. “You can’t say that,” Margolyes admitted. At least no one got his last name wrong, for once.
