Paint me a picture

-

Q Despite my best efforts, my painted upcycled furniture never looks quite right, and often ends up clumpy, stained or peeling. What am I doing wrong?

A VICTORIA SAYS: e key is sanding it back to the original wood and using a good quality primer and brush. Once the primer has dried, do another quick rub down with sandpaper and you’re ready to paint. I use water-based paints because they’re often lower in odour and white spirit isn’t necessary.
