Don’t be too shocked if some nasty surprises pop up along the way. It’s worth having an emergency fund for any unexpected work.

Mistakes do happen, but that’s okay. I originally chose a different colour for the living room, but when the paint was on the wall I hated it, so we changed it straight away.

I’m always amazed what a lick of paint can achieve. It can change the whole feel of a room after just a couple of hours of decorating.
