HOW TO WORK THIS LOOK
l Create the palette for this look by choosing your statement paprika shade first, then select your supporting colours. A rich navy provides a perfect contrast to the red tones and gives the scheme its depth. Look out for a blue with slightly orange, rather than green, undertones for a seamless effect that will keep the look feeling cosy.
l Avoid using white on wood and metalwork, as this will take all the impact out of the dramatic colours. Instead, think creatively about how you can incorporate these fixtures into the scheme. Paint them the same colours as the walls to make them blend in or, to turn them into a feature, use deep reds and browns.
l Use elegant faux panelling to elevate the look. It’s simple to create these panels yourself with pre-cut strips and sheets in wood or MDF, then all you need to do is paint them the perfect paprika shade.
