‘It took me a while to get it right, but I’m finally happy with the living room – it’s come a long way!’

Alice went for white walls on one side of the living room, with big, bold hits of colour from furniture and artwork. On the other side, she chose to paint the fireplace and book shelves in a deep blue. The velvet sofa is her best buy. ‘It’s from Swoon and retails at around £1,800,’ Alice says, ‘but I found it for £850 on eBay as it’s ex-showroom. It was basically brand new and half the price!’
