‘ This room was an empty white box when we moved in. I originally painted it a muted purple, but recently changed it to Farrow & Ball’s Down Pipe as I wanted something darker and less vibrant, and it’s a south-facing room so I knew it could take it. I saw the beautiful Emma Bridgewate­r by Sanderson wallpaper on Instagram, but it was out of print, so I went on eBay every day for two months until I found some. I then got a decorator to put it up as I couldn’t afford to waste a single scrap, as I only found one roll! I don’t like the idea of buying from a catalogue so most of the furniture in here is second-hand or upcycled, which gives the room its unique look.’
