Master bedroom

-

‘Our master bedroom at the front was quite dark before, as it only gets the sun first thing in the morning. To make it feel more light and airy, we chose Dulux’s Tranquil Dawn for the walls. I also love the contrast of the darker door in Farrow & Ball’s Inchyra Blue. It leads to a cupboard with two clothes rails, which we had reboarded and plastered. This is the only room that we hired a sander for to restore the original floorboards, as they were in good condition. Although it’s quite a colourful room, they’re all quite earthy shades, which work well together.’

?? ?? ’After painting the white fireplace in black, we created a tiled hearth over a stone section with a little border made from wood beading,’ says Meg. ‘ The pink tiles from YourTiles are the same type as the ones we have in the spare bedroom hearth, but they’re a different colour. I particularly love the IKEA wardrobe with the bamboo sliding door and the French Connection rug, which I think ties everything together’
