Spare bedroom

‘As we only have two bedrooms, the second had to work hard and serve a few different purposes. We both work from home so needed desk space, as well as a sofa bed for overnight guests and some clever storage. The room was covered in blue floral wallpaper before, but the floorboards had been painted white. We kept them for a while until we could afford a new carpet, which continues onto the landing and stairs. The skirting boards were painted the same colour as the walls, Green 02 by Lick, for a seamless effect.’

Making the most of the space available, the couple have created a clever wall of storage that has been split into three sections using IKEA doors and shelving. The wall also features a flip-down desk for home working. The pink chair was from a charity shop and the curtains are from H&M Home. The walls in the spare bedroom are painted in Green 02 by Lick
