Decorator knowhow

-

Marcus Jarvis, in-house painter and decorator at Harris, shares his expertise on how to get your skirting boards to look their very best...

‘First, apply Seriously Good Masking Tape along the bottom of the skirting and lay down a Seriously Good Dust Sheet. Sand the boards lightly with Ultimate Fine Sandpaper to remove the top layer of paint or smooth down any damage. For damaged or chipped boards, clean the wood with a Seriously Good Microfibre Cloth then fill any holes with wood filler using the Seriously Good Filling Knife.

Apply primer to your boards using the Ultimate Angled Gloss Brush, following the grain. Once dry, sand and clean then apply your topcoat with the Ultimate Angled

Gloss Brush. Remove the masking tape while the paint is damp for a flawless finish.’
