Living room

‘When we moved in, the living room had brown cladding around the fireplace and lime green walls. As our money had gone on redoing the electrics, we pulled off the cladding and then lived with the green until we could afford to decorate. Eventually we were able to put down wood-effect laminate flooring and we painted the walls in neutral magnolia. I put up this Ipanema wallpaper from John Lewis & Partners and painted the fire surround to complement it. After replacing all the windows, Jon’s mum bought us the blind, which does a good job of letting light flood in but still providing privacy. I like to go full-on with decorating this room at Christmas and I love styling up the mantelpiece.’
