WHAT I LEARNED...
Don’t be afraid to use lots of pattern and colour in your home. I realised that you need to decorate for the here and now and not worry about future buyers liking your taste. It’s your house and the likelihood is if you love it, others will too.
Try and be patient when you have to repair damaged walls. It pays to do any repairs properly first time around, so you don’t have to revisit the same problem after a few months. Don’t necessarily go for the cheapest tradesperson and pick someone who’s been personally recommended.
Try to think of the house as a whole and choose colour schemes that link each room together so it feels cohesive as you move around it.
