Guest bedroom/Office

‘Our second bedroom is multi-functional as it’s an office, occasional guest bedroom and storage room. Gabe built a big unit to hide all our outdoor and camping gear, then we found a second-hand sofa bed online. My favourite thing is the desk made from live-edge oak sourced from a local farmer, which was fitted with metal legs bought on eBay. It was originally going to be a table for me to do my portraits on, but when lockdown happened, Gabe reclaimed it as his desk for home working. I painted an ombré feature wall, something I’d already experimented with in a previous home. There was lots of dry brushing and overlapping to get it just right, and the dog ran through my tray of paint and left little blue paw prints all overfl This room will get smaller when we do the loft conversion, as the new stairs will take out the big cupboards, but we’ll probably add some eaves storage to make up for it.’
